About
CM brings the best of chamber and jazz music to a growing audience in Maryland through their Festivals and Competition and educates through YouthReach.
In 1985, a dedicated group of chamber music lovers on the Eastern Shore of Maryland's Chesapeake Bay, headed by the late Ralph Bloom, established the Eastern Shore Chamber Music Festival. Assisted by J. Lawrie Bloom and Marcy Rosen (Artistic Directors for the past 24 years) and Donald Buxton (Executive Director since the Festival's beginning), the Festival began with a single concert and has blossomed o a two week event in early June. Now offering a wider variety of programs, CHESAPEAKE MUSIC, holds a Jazz Festival over Labor Day Weekend, a Competition held biennially, concerts throughout the year, and a popular out reach program, First Strings, as part of its YouthReach program.
