The Easton Economic Development Corporation is excited to announce the dates of these family-friendly events in Easton, MD.
2023 Summer Outdoor Movie Nights
Families are invited to come early, bring a picnic, and enjoy a free art project sponsored by The 911 Day of Service Project/Americorps. Please note: Movies begin around 8:00 PM (when it is fully dark outside)
September 15 – Hispanic Heritage night (Movie will be in Spanish) – Thompson Park
October 6 – Academy Art Museum, The Nightmare Before Christmas

Vonda Shepard at the Avalon Theatre, September 22
Shepard has sold over twelve million albums, has won two Golden Globes, two Emmy Awards and two Screen Actors Guild awards. She also holds the Billboard prize for selling the most TV soundtracks in history. She continues to tour the world, playing her original material and the faves from her days on “Ally McBeal” as well as new songs from her ninth solo album, “Red Light, Green Light” (released in September 2022).
Frederick Douglass Day September 23
History buffs as well as anyone looking to enjoy a day-long celebration of community, with emphasis on the legacy of Frederick Douglass, will certainly enjoy this day. Parade, arts and crafts, lectures, cook signings, live music, interactive activities for children and adults.

Chesapeake Film Festival Sept 30-Oct 1
Join Easton for the live 2023 Chesapeake Film Festival which kicks off September 30 at the historic Avalon Theatre, followed by a second day at the spectacular Ebenezer Theater. The film festival has almost a two-decade record of innovative and unique offerings, something for everyone!

Fall Kick Off Weekend – October 6&7
This annual spectacular celebration of fall in Easton, MD will have you walking the streets in awe – the Giant Pumpkin trail features dozens of larger-than-life pumpkins, hundreds of pounds of total creative fun! Live carvings by ICELAB are the star of the show! Featuring live outdoor music, food and shopping specials, Easton’s awesome brewfest, tablescaping competition, art displays.

Easton’s Airport Day – Celebrating 80 years!
Easton Airport will host the 14th annual Easton Airport Day on Saturday, October 14. The annual event is a fun-filled gathering that offers a unique opportunity to visit the community airfield and see what flying is all about.
Formation flyovers highlight the event with “Warbirds” flying patterns over the skies of Talbot County. The world-famous Rubber Chicken Drop Contest will return to delight the crowd as pilots attempt to hit the bed of a pickup truck while flying over the airport. Food vendors will be on site.

Candyland October 21 & 22
Kids of all ages will have a blast with a life-size version of Candyland! This amazing fun-filled day is all for the young and the young at heart. Kid’s activities, arts & crafts marketplace, food.

Academy Art Museum Craft Show October 28 & 29
The Academy Art Museum’s 26th Annual Craft Show will feature over 60 artists from across the United States.. With nearly a third of the participants exhibiting for the first time, we the incredible variety of art is sure to be a treat for everyone to enjoy. This is truly a show by artists for artists.
Waterfowl Festival, November 10-12
For three days every November, between 18,000 and 20,000 visitors discover the best of local wildlife, nature, art, heritage, food, and fun at the Waterfowl Festival. While strolling along the lovely streets of Easton, MD, visitors can discover the town and a tradition that has been going strong for generations. Tickets are on sale now.
