Since Easton became a daily part of my life, I’ve fallen back in love with men’s fashion. Elevating my wardrobe has been a constant sidequest as I strolled downtown, and the windows at Berrier have been a point of envy from the start. Even from the outside, Berrier exudes class, quality and style.
So, I asked them to dress me. Period.
This video exists because I really wanted an excuse to try on a Berrier outfit. I’m not too proud to admit it, and they did not disappoint.
The store feels like an English haberdashery, high quality pieces on display, waiting to be chosen and tailored to your fit. And hand-picked, waiting for me was *my* fit.
Let’s start with the shoes. I love a good loafer, and these were extremely soft and comfy suede dear skin. They were so comfortable, I almost walked out of the store with them, like I had been wearing them for years already.
Nothing topped the clothes, however. A lovely Calder button up shirt, a burnt orange alpaca sweater, part of Berrier’s private label, and to top it all off, a Loan Pine Cashmere vest with leather and fur collar. I don’t think I’ve ever put on anything quite as fine as that vest in my life.
The whole look made me feel like I walked out of a Waterfowl modeling catalogue. I felt as clean and sharp as I ever had in any tailored suit. But then, I’d never worn Berrier before. It was warm but breathable, and the craftsmanship of each piece was luxuriant. There’s really no better word I can think of than that, they were luxuriant.
It’s hard to imagine a better-kept menswear store on this side of the pond than Berrier. This was only 4 items out of hundreds that await a discerning eye to admire them. It’s the sort of store that makes a certain kind of guy rub their hands together in excitement. I happen to be that certain kind of guy. And I’ll be keeping my eye on Berrier every day I walk down South Harrison Street.
Sure, good men’s fashion can be an expensive habit. But a man who can’t share his habits is a man who needs to quit them. I’m more than happy to share Berrier with you all. You should stop in if you’re anything like me, or if you just really want to spoil me for Christmas.
