Perfect Storm Productions Release Holiday Special Radio Show

Easton, MD– While others may be excited for the new Hallmark holiday movie schedule, Perfect Storm Productions is excited for something a little more nostalgic this holiday season.

Earlier this month, members of the local creative group gathered in the crowded studio of Sweetfoot Studios, pulling out their best “radio voices” and homemade sound effects for the recording session of “O Christmas Tree”, an original play by Casey Rauch.

The group is no stranger to unconventional art or “what-if?” ideas, having just wrapped up a sold-out run of their immersive theater experience of “Stage Fright: 1964” in October. That show brought guests into the a chilling, mind-bending tale of music, madness, and restless spirits at the Avalon Theater in 1964, and invited guests to explore the entire building, witnessing scenes and secrets around every corner.

“After wrapping up Stage Fright for the second year, it was nice to have a little break..but we never go long without thinking about the next big idea. Our group is full of creative minds, who honestly, can’t slow down. We have a great group, and we want to share our creativity and ideas with the mid-shore arts community on whatever stage, or medium, we can,” said Cecile Storm, Resident Creative Director and Founder of Perfect Storm Productions. “This radio play is a great way to share Christmas cheer, and show our group’s diverse talents.”

The Production group partnered with Sweetfoot Studios to record the session, and collaborated with Marco Antonio and WHCP Mid-Shore Community Radio to broadcast the special on 91.7 FM. The production is sponsored by Lyon’s Rum, and was directed by Cecile Storm.

“The play is a twinkly, warm, and festive story about the importance of slowing down and making memories with the ones you love, and who love you, – not just during the holiday season, but everyday,” said playwright Rauch.

The original story has a bit of everything, from humor to heartwarming, providing the perfect backdrop to cozy up with friends and family as it airs on the local radio, WHCP 91.7 this holiday season.

The performance will air on WHCP 91.7 or the WHCP app starting December 17th, with additional air dates including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, as well as December 26th.
