Eat Sprout Receives Five Year Citation from Secretary of Commerce Anderson

Easton, MD – June 15, 2023

Eat Sprout received a citation today by Maryland Department of Commerce Secretary Kevin Anderson for their five years in business. Secretary Anderson thanked the Grolls for their commitment to the community and congratulated them for a successful five years. Secretary Anderson, Lori Ratzburg, and Nancy LaJoice from Maryland’s Department of Commerce spent an entire day on the Eastern Shore visiting key projects and talking with civic and business leaders.

About Eat Sprout: Sprout is an Easton-born business owned by Ryan and Emily Groll. They employ over thirty people in our community. Sprout buys as most of their produce and goods as they can from local producers and farmers. The company’s philosophy is summed up by co-founder and owner Ryan Groll, “If you keep good food in your fridge, you will eat good food.”
 

In addition, they are a green business, using recyclable and reusable products whenever they can. The Grolls are also well known for their philanthropic work and support of local charities and organizations, in particular producing tens of thousands of meals each year for Rotary Club of Easton, Maryland, District 7630 Rise Against Hunger event in January of each year.
