Brett Day Windham
Gathering the Chesapeake
Exhibition on view June 4 - July 18, 2026
Artist Talk & Opening Reception
Thursday, June 4 | 5 p.m.
Moderated by Charlotte Potter Kasic
Reception to follow
In Gathering the Chesapeake, Windham has used flora and fauna specimens from the Chesapeake Bay collected by Zach Gallery, the Academy Art Museum, and students from The Gunston School’s Chesapeake Bay Watershed Semester. Armed with these specimens, her research on growth zones and plant habitats, and open-source images from Google Earth, she conjures a place she has never visited: the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Zach Gallery is delighted to welcome Brett Day Windham to the Eastern Shore and present this body of work, as well as an opportunity for the community to engage personally with the artist and her process.
Magical Cyanotype | Artist Workshop with Brett Day Windham
at the Academy Art Museum, 106 South Street, Easton
Saturday, June 6th
10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Join visiting artist Brett Day Windham for a one-day workshop exploring the historic cyanotype process, also known as sun-print photography.
Originally invented in 1842 and famously used by Anna Atkins, cyanotype creates striking blue-and-white prints using sunlight and found objects. Participants are encouraged to bring items with interesting textures or translucence and will leave with original prints and the skills to continue creating cyanotypes at home.
Register for Magical Cyanotype
This workshop coincides with Windham’s exhibition, Gathering the Chesapeake, on view at Zach Gallery June 4 - July 18
