Following a highly successful sold out season, Easton Choral Arts Society (ECAS), under the leadership of Artistic Director Alexis Ward and Assistant Director Amy Morgan, is excited to announce a change in performance venue beginning with the 2025-26 concert season. The new venue, St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, provides greater seating capacity, improved parking options and a more comfortable audience experience. This change in venue reflects ongoing efforts by Easton Choral Arts to expand and enhance musical offerings, as well as to welcome and engage all who share a love of singing and vocal performance.
The added space provided by the new venue will allow ECAS to increase ongoing efforts to recruit new vocalists and create valued connections among singers of all ages and levels of musical experience. “With more space in the rehearsal room and on the risers, we are so excited to be able welcome even more members to our ECAS family” said Easton Choral Arts Board President Emily Moody. She highlights the unique opportunities provided by ECAS’ Choral Scholar Program, which offers eligible middle and high school students the opportunity to participate in weekly rehearsals and concerts, receiving high quality musical instruction and experience.
Interested singers are invited to join Easton Choral Arts for "A Winter Rose" - a December concert blooming with timeless carols, cinematic modern works, and beloved holiday favorites accompanied by a professional live string ensemble. This unique program weaves together the natural beauty of winter florals and evergreens with music both sacred and secular, delicate and bold. Featuring lush arrangements, small ensemble gems, audience calls, and a touch of crooner charm, "A Winter Rose" is a warm and festive evening you won’t want to miss.
ECAS hosts two open rehearsals at the beginning of the season to give all interested singers the opportunity to experience the choir prior to committing to the season. All are welcome to attend, regardless of musical knowledge or experience. Auditions are no longer required, and members do not need to know how to read music in order to join. Potential members will meet with the Artistic Director for a brief vocal placement session. Preregistration is requested, to ensure we have enough music for all; interested participants can find information by visiting the “Join Us” tab at www.eastonchoralarts.com, or by visiting the Easton Choral Arts page on Facebook.
Open Rehearsals:
Dates: September 2 and September 9 (may attend one or both)
Time: 6:30 – 9 PM Location: St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 100 Peachblossom Avenue, Easton
