    Description

No Depression calls Chuck Prophet’s extraordinary new album “Wake the Dead” a “celebration of being alive.”

After Prophet’s recent battle with stage four lymphoma, that is no coincidence.

    Tickets:
$35 Club Setting/Dance Floor (Orchestra area)
    $40 Mezzanine/Upper Balcony Reserved

Recorded with band of brothers ¿Qiensave?, Prophet’s album dances to life as it explores the world of Cumbia music with funky grooves driven by drums, accordion, and organ. The songs are intoxicatingly rhythmic, all but demanding you move your body, with arrangements that blur the lines between tradition and innovation.

Recently reaching #1 on the Americana charts, the album contains flashes of rock and roll, punk, surf, and soul, all filtered through the streets of San Francisco and wrapped up in the rich legacy of a genre that traces its roots back to the jungles of South America.
