Discovering Easton: Zebra Gallery

They say every Zebra has unique stripes, but the one we have in Easton might be the most unique of them all. The Zebra Gallery on South Harrison Street is host to a bevy of amazing exhibits, offering unique perspectives in both mediums and subject matter.

There are fantastic main stays: One that I really enjoy is the work of Susan Fay Schauer. What look like paintings at first glance are actually intricate pieces of fabric and thread. Another whimsical constant is the work of Gabriel Lehman, whose work feels like a children’s illustration
book with a gust of magic wind running through it. I enjoy them every time I come in.

But, as I said, this Zebra changes it’s stripes often. Even in the week since I recorded this, a second massive driftwood horse has now taken up residence in Zebra, and this stunning piece from Lana Frey has found a new home. It makes every visit to Zebra Gallery a fresh experience. Whether it be abstract studies in texture and color, realistic paintings to take your breath away, gorgeous shapes formed from wood, or breathtaking installations, there will always be something there to titillate your artistic intrigue.

For a black-and-white animal, Zebra is anything but. Color and texture play in the gallery space in a unique way that makes the space feel both electric and personal. There will be pieces you make sure you study each time you walk in, as well as bright comets, only to be experienced once before vanishing into the night.

Get your fill of both at the Zebra Gallery, you won’t want to miss out.
