Discovering Easton: Windswept

Easton is blessed with a lot of great women’s clothing stores, and today I want to walk you through one of my favorites: Windswept Clothiers, right in the middle of South Harrison Street. Windswept stood out for me when I first started here because of their bubble dresses and long coats. They’re of a brand that a very fashionable friend of mine, one Tonda Parks, absolutely loves, and she always owns a room when she puts them on.

And when I started going in, I was floored with the elegance of the store, the trendy and posh displays… look, obviously I don’t have a lot to buy in a women’s clothing store, but the selections at Windswept are exactly the type I try to convince my wife to treat herself with.
More on that later.

The dresses and jackets are fabulous, the gloves are timeless, with a history dating back to the late Queen Elizabeth, it’s a great story, and the fashion is peak. But Windswept’s newest addition, one that I’ve already seen around town, is what I wanted to show you today.

These cute little bags from Couture Planet are made from post-consumer newspaper, featuring articles from pop culture, food and wine, and music. I’ve got a background in newspaper, and it’s always awesome seeing newsprint upcycled. The inside and outside are entirely from one article, and there’s some great detail in the bag. They really charmed me, and there… might be
a Taylor Swift one waiting for my wife under the Christmas tree this year.

The day after I took hers home, I ran into three or four more ladies sporting brand-new Couture Planet bags as well. Pop in to grab yours at Windswept, or check out their immaculate dresses, coats and gloves. The fashion is fabulous, the prices are great, and the staff couldn’t be friendlier.

And be cool, no one tell my wife what I got her for Christmas. Thank god she doesn’t watch these!
