There’s a slice of Easton growing like a wildflower, bright, full of life, and worth stopping to check out for yourself. The Market at Dover Station has seen an explosion of growth lately, and it’s caught the attention of a lot of people in Easton, including me.
I think what makes The Market shine is its variety. Inside the historic building are stalls from various local vendors, from artists and artisans to interior designers and coffee roasters, all maintained and under one charming roof.
This turns the space into a giant sampler plate of Easton itself. There’s treasures tucked into every corner, and so much of it shines with unique, local flair. I see Easton itself all over these vignettes, from the personality of local artists, to waterfowl bowties, there’s a lot here to make you feel that Eastern Shore pride and creativity. Some downtown stores and galleries I love have also opened up satellite shops at the Market. I’ll take Zebra Gallery and the Mercantile any way they come.
The gallery aspect can’t be understated either. The Market serves as a gallery space as well, and has plenty of beautiful pieces to peruse in its bespoke arts sections.
There’s so much here, and it’s still growing. There’s a café underway, and an upstairs that serves as a beautiful event space. There’s plenty of opportunities to make memories at the Market at Dover Station already, with many more to come.
I encourage you to stop by and make a few memories of your own. After all, there’s never a bad time to stop and take in a wildflower.
