Discovering Easton: Oxford Vintage

No historic town is complete without a good old fashioned antique store. We’ve got a few in Easton, but the newest to grace our streets is Oxford Vintage & Trade on Dover Street.

I was immediately drawn to this store because it reminded me of antiquing on the weekends with my wife when we were just starting out, back in Berlin, about fifteen years ago. That was during a sort of antique boom in the area, and Oxford Vintage takes me back to that time.

The selections are well-curated and the space is well-used, giving the whole thing more of a roomy home feel. It invites you to imagine it’s items in your own home, and there’s plenty there to spark that imagination. I’m a vinyl guy, so their records and old-school players and cabinets call to me like a siren every time I come in.

There’s much more than music to recommend Oxford Vintage and Trade, though. The furniture, the paintings, and the finery are just a start to the treasures behind those doors. I mean, I walked out of there yesterday with an old-school ammunition box, it’s pretty sweet… maybe I’ll use it to store trading cards, I haven’t decided yet. All this to say that there’s something, maybe several things, in there that will peak anyone’s interest.

I recommend you pop in and see for yourself. After all, what trip to a town like Easton would be complete without a healthy dose of antiquing?
