Plein Air Easton

Plein Air Easton is the largest and most prestigious juried plein air painting competition in the United States. The annual competition is held in Easton, MD each July. Artists from all over the United States and beyond apply and fifty-eight artists will be juried into the competition by a unique juror each year.  Once selected, competing artists will travel to Talbot County to produce art from life (as opposed to in the studio).

Head into the historic district on July 11th as galleries and shops host demos and receptions to celebrate the kick-off night!  Live music is sure to be included, retail specials, Meet and Greet receptions, demos and more. The Nocturne Paint-Out will follow afterward with artists’ painting into the night downtown!

Plein Air juried artist’s original works are exhibited throughout the week, competition awards are given, and paintings are sold, sometimes right off the easel! Highlights include the open-to-all Quick Draw Competition, demonstrations, workshops, exhibits, and lectures.
