Discover Easton's Scarecrow Decorating Contest Signup
We’re excited to announce a new fall attraction for Easton. The inaugural Discover Easton Scarecrow Decorating contest will be a wonderful opportunity for all Easton businesses and organizations to showcase their creative side and connect with the community in a fun, festive way.
Fill out the form below to register for the contest. All participating businesses will be included in a map that visitors can use to find scarecrows and vote for their favorite.
Rules:
1) Register and have your scarecrow on display starting Oct. 2. We will accept submissions after the start date, but advise businesses to participate as early as possible.
2) All scarecrows must be in good taste and absent of adult, political, or religious themes.
3) Scarecrows must be weather resistant and on display through November 15.
4) Scarecrows must be placed on your business property and follow Town of Easton guidelines for outdoor décor.
How to win:
Voting will take place in person at participating businesses and online until November 15. We will tally voting and announce the winner by November 20.
The winning business will be announced and receive a shoutout on WCEI, social media, Discover Easton’s newsletter, and discovereaston.com.
One lucky voter will be selected to receive a prize sponsored by the Tidewater Inn. We thank them for offering this prize to encourage more voter participation and visits to our participating local businesses.
Frequently Asked Questions
Any Easton located business, non-profit, organization, or professional center can participate in the scarecrow decorating contest. As scarecrow submissions are received, we will generate a map and launch a page for visitors to use that helps them find the scarecrows in town and vote for their favorite.
There is no cost to signup. All that we ask is that each participating business or organization cover their own costs for materials to make the scarecrows.
We may be able to help you find a location for your scarecrow downtown. Please submit your information with a note about needing help to find a location and we will contact you to see if we can facilitate a spot for the scarecrow in town and on our map.
