Sponsorship signup has now closed. Thank you to all of our supports for joining in on the inaugural event!
Discover Easton is excited to announce PUMPKIN CARVE, a new event featuring artistically carved pumpkins, a live carving demo, and activities for kids, as part of the November 14th Easton Community Day.
Pumpkins will be carved by the sculptors from Ice Lab, the same team that created the ice sculptures on display during the inaugural Chesapeake Fire & Ice Festival. We hope you will join in celebrating autumn and togetherness in our community by becoming a Pumpkin Carve sponsor and/or by making a contribution.
SPONSOR BENEFITS All sponsors will receive recognition on our event website and social media. Each regular-size pumpkin sponsored will have your business name displayed on a 11″ x 8″ sign. Giant Pumpkin & Pumpkin Patch sponsors will have your logo displayed on a 24″ x 18″ yard sign next to your pumpkin(s).
The pumpkins will be displayed in downtown Easton. The final placement will depend on the number of pumpkins and what sizes we are displaying. Many will be placed in front of retail stores, near parks, and along sidewalks.
How long will the pumpkins be on display?
The pumpkins will be placed prior to the start of Community Day on Nov. 14 and will remain out during the weekend. There is a chance that some of the pumpkins will be on display longer if they hold up. We will monitor their condition and if any deterioration of the pumpkins occur they will be disposed of.
Does the sponsor pick the design for the pumpkin?
Giant Pumpkins and Pumpkin Patch sponsors will be able to work with us and the artists to come up with a unique carving theme and design. Regular size pumpkin sponsors will be able to request a design, but we do ask that those requests be straightforward and fall themed so the artist has some freedom to make what is best for each pumpkin. Logos carved in a pumpkin is not ideal for this event. If you have an interesting idea for a pumpkin please do not hesitate to contact us.
Can I bring my own carved pumpkin or participate as an artist?
For 2020 we are only working with the professionals at Ice Lab to create the pumpkin displays. If a business located downtown would like to make their own display, they are welcome to do so. Those displays would not be an official part of this event, but festively decorating the town for fall is always encouraged. We will not be accepting or ask for pumpkins carved by others this year. There will be an area for kids to participate and make their own painted pumpkins. In the future, we would like to make this a bigger competition when social distancing is (hopefully) a thing of the past.
Can we participate if we are not an Easton based business?
Absolutely! The Pumpkin Carve event is part of the bigger Community Day celebration being organized by multiple Talbot and Mid-Shore partners. We appreciate all support that celebrates fall and togetherness in our community.
