Talbot County Women’s Club Hosts Garden Gate Fundraiser Flower Mart
The Talbot County Women’s Club is hosting the Garden Gate Fundraiser Flower Mart & Lavender Gifts and Garden Decor on Thursday, April 28th through Saturday, April 30thh from 11 a.m. to 4:00 each day and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Talbot County Women’s Clubhouse located on 18 Talbot Lane in Easton (behind Easton Post Office).
The Flower Mart will offer a wide selection of geraniums, annuals, perennials, and herbs, as well as hanging baskets and garden planters for both sun and shade.
Lavender products will be available from Lavender Lane Farm of Maryland that plant, grow, harvest lavender creating beautiful products. Shop other craft items along with garden decor and jewelry.
“Our Flower Mart and Fair is just in time for Mother’s Day gift-giving and spring planting. The goal of this year’s event is to raise funds to support our numerous service projects, as well as support the restoration efforts for the historic house where the club meets,” said Nancy Lutes, President of the Talbot County Women’s Club.
Club activities over the past year included donating backpacks and school supplies to Easton Elementary students, a financial workshop designed for women, an outdoor life-sized Candyland fundraiser, providing non-perishable food items to the Talbot Senior Center, and donations to Habitat for Humanity Choptank.
The Talbot County Women’s Club, a registered non-profit, was founded in 1930 by a small group of women with the desire to serve the community while also building lifelong friendships. Four key principles have guided the work of the club over the 90 years it has been in operation and include supporting projects, building deep friendships, creating learning experiences, and maintaining the historic center of the Club’s activities.
“Our club is always seeking new members and offers an excellent opportunity for new residents to meet other women, while also giving back to our community. There is something for everyone- a historic house and garden, social events, learning experiences and most importunately having fun,” said Lutes.
