Discover Easton Announces New Signature Event: Chesapeake Fire & Ice Festival

Chesapeake Fire & Ice Festival, February 14-16, 2020

EASTON, Md. – Discover Easton is excited to announce the inaugural Chesapeake Fire & Ice Festival, a three-day event coming to downtown Easton February 14-16, 2020. The new event will feature dozens of ice sculptures spread out throughout Easton’s historic district, along with ice carving demonstrations, live music, and in-store special events throughout the weekend.

The Chesapeake Fire & Ice Festival will kick off with a Friday night Ice Block Party, a downtown celebration that will feature live music, shops and galleries open late, an ice carving demonstration, and the unveiling of the weekend’s ice sculptures throughout the downtown area. This will be the first chance that locals and visitors alike will be able to see the professionally sculpted ice blocks displayed in downtown Easton.

“We are working closely with our growing list of sponsors and sculptors to put their imaginative design ideas in ice and fire form next year,” Discover Easton Marketing & Events Coordinator Jeff Lankford said.

The festival continues on Saturday with ice sculptures on display throughout the day in downtown Easton. Live music and games will also be featured downtown during the day on Saturday, with special menus and giveaways at our restaurants and stores. Saturday also brings us the inaugural Fire & Ice Beer Festival, a craft beer event held in partnership with the Easton Volunteer Fire Department.

On Sunday, come back downtown for the Ice Breaker Party. Watch as the professional sculptors smash their biggest creations to pieces.

“We are extremely excited for the inaugural Chesapeake Fire and Ice Festival in downtown Easton,” Discover Easton Executive Director Ross Benincasa said. “We heard from our businesses and visitors that the Eastern Shore needs a hallmark winter event, and I hope we have created something the entire family can come to town to enjoy.”
