“An enigmatic singer-songwriter whose work veers from the bitterly comic to the profoundly spiritual.” Allmusic.com
With influences ranging from Bob Dylan to Leonard Cohen, and Joni Mitchell to The Beatles, contemporary folk singer/songwriter Richard Shindell’s songs have been covered by folk legends like Joan Baez and he’s collaborated with the likes of John Gorka, Dar Williams and Lucy Kaplansky.
According to the rave review that the UK’s Get Ready to Rock gave his latest album, “Shindell deserves to be better known than he is and ‘Careless’ might well do the trick – but heaven forfend that he ever becomes mainstream – the loss of albums such as this would be hard to take. Touching, intelligent and staggeringly good. As usual.”
