This two hour class is designed to introduce the practice of Mindfulness to new students. Class structure is roughly equal parts lecture, discussion, and guided meditation. Participants can expect to have an understanding of what Mindfulness is (and what it is not), and the basic start for incorporating Mindfulness into their daily lives.
Participants will learn the foundational meditation practices of Mindfulness of Breath and Mindfulness of Body and how these practices will allow us to respond more skillfully to triggers. Participants will be offered resources and instruction for cultivating their own Mindfulness practice at home.
The start of a practice can lead to reduced stress, less reactivity, increased compassion, improved health and well-being.
