Why I started a family wellness practice:

After I completed my graduate studies, my plan was to open a general practice... and I did.  However, things changed after the birth of my child.  My son was eventually diagnosed with several rare diseases and is considered by allopathic medicine to be medically complex.  As a parent of a medically complex child, finding information about my son’s conditions and helpful treatments did not come easily. As a new mother I was uncertain about what I could and should do to help my child. I switched from big name hospital to big name hospital trying to get answers and help for my son.

Not only was there lack of support and lack of communication between departments at those hospitals, nothing that was suggested was actually helping him.  That is when I realized I had the power to change this.  I began to rely on my years of training and I also began studying other gentle and natural modalities which are in harmony with or work synergistically with acupuncture.  I also looked to communities of children who are deemed to be the “sickest” in the country (and were healing) and I learned how to apply these natural therapies and protocols to my own child.  Slowly we too began to see healing!

I continue to search for and study the best and most advanced natural medicine to help my child and in doing so I am able to pass this information along to you and your family!  I have implemented many natural healing protocols into my family practice and have seen profound results.  My hope is to share the joy of healing with you and your family as well. The body, mind and sprit are all designed to heal and can heal beautifully if given the proper support. I am here to help give you and your family the support needed.

A bit about me:

I am a native of Easton, Maryland and I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Arts in Classical Languages and Literature from the University of Maryland, College Park. After working in the the insurance industry for over a decade, I decided to make a career change after I experienced the life altering benefits of acupuncture.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Clinical Masters Level Diploma from the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine in Bloomfield, New Jersey. I am a nationally board certified acupuncturist by the NCCAOM and am licensed to practice in Maryland and Pennsylvania. I practice an individualized  and medical based form of acupuncture which focuses heavily on palpation for diagnosis following the teachings of Kiiko Matsumoto; an internationally acclaimed acupuncturist. Master Matsumoto has been a guide for me since I began my acupuncture studies, and as I continue to study with her, I am constantly evolving my craft to bring you individualized, caring and authentic treatments.  I am also the founder and a co-chapter leader of the Weston A. Price Foundation in Talbot County and I enjoy feeding family and friends nutrient dense traditional foods.

In love and health,

Caroline Wrightson, L.Ac., Dipl. Ac.
