First Night Talbot 2019 will present its 25th annual celebration of the arts by welcoming in the New Year in historic downtown Easton. First Night Talbot follows the traditions of the inaugural First Night event that began in Boston in 1976. In recognition of the value of healthy family alternatives to traditionally alcohol-related events, First Night Talbot is alcohol and drug free and the only First Night celebration in the State of Maryland. First Night Talbot 2019 is pleased to echo the message of the Talbot Goes Purple initiative for the second year in continuing to address the need for strong and healthy families and communities.
We are able to provide this event due to strong support each year from many folks who have volunteered or attended numerous times in the past. Some performers willingly ask for less than they could make playing in bars and other events due to their commitment to our cause. Even still, the six-hour festivities are funded by community non-profit organizations and foundations, the Talbot County Arts Council, Easton Utilities Commission and the Town of Easton. Without the help of these wonderful sponsors, First Night Talbot would not have become a 25-year success story.
As we celebrate the 25th year of First Night Talbot, becoming a sponsor shows the Shore community that your organization supports the core values demonstrated during the event. Its a fantastic way to link your organization to the image of family-friendly entertainment in a safe, drug free, and alcohol free environment. The families that attend First Night Talbot are an integral part of the community. Many parents have grown up attending First Night Talbot celebrations during the past 25 years and now bring their own children to the event. Becoming a sponsor allows you to connect with multiple generations of Talbot County residents.
