Maryland Styrofoam Ban Postponed

The ban on the sale and distribution of expanded polystyrene (Styrofoam) products in Maryland, which was set to into effect on July 1, 2020, has been postponed for schools and food service businesses due to the economic effects of COVID-19. Polystyrene products may not be purchased after July 1, but food service businesses may continue to distribute styrofoam products from their existing inventories until October 1, 2020, or 30 days after the State of Emergency is terminated, whichever is earlier.
