Tour de Talbot
Tour de Talbot was founded in 2020 as the “Tour de Quarantine” as a way for cyclists to get out of the confines of home during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic. In 2021 we took back the name, used previously by the Mid-Shore Riverkeepers, to kick off the renewed Tour de Talbot – a scenic ride through Talbot County, Maryland to support the Maryland Food Bank and those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
In 2022 we take the Tour de Talbot to the next level! This year, we fall under the umbrella of Talbot Thrive, a new non-profit in Talbot County which allows us to raise more monies through sponsorship and partnerships with other community organizations.
The goal of Talbot Thrive is to promote healthy and safe outdoor mobility for everyone living, working and visiting Talbot County. The founders of Talbot Thrive are community leaders, professional transportation planners and engineers, public health professionals, business owners, wellness advocates and public officials. The work collaboratively with community partners and elected officials and to ensure people can walk, run and cycle safely for any trip purpose.
