AAM Craft Show Artist Shana Kroiz will demonstrate how she plans and executes her carved double-sided earrings. This demonstration will show the use of both hand carving and the use of a flex shaft. She will also talk about how she then elctroforms and finishes the wax forms in preparation for the final finished work. Shana will talk about the use of powder coating in these pieces.

Shana Kroiz's meticulously crafted, one of a kind, limited production fine art jewelry exuberantly celebrates ancient forms and sensuous curves, with a contemporary edge. Shana’s work has been featured in Metalsmith and Ornament magazines and in books, including, Cast: Art and Objects, One of a Kind: American Art Jewelry Today, the Penland Book of Jewelry, 500 Brooches, and Found Object Art. Her work can also be found in the collections of the Museum of Art and Design (MAD) and the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York City. She continues to exhibit and sell her work nationally. Shana lives and works in her native Baltimore, where she teaches at the Baltimore Jewelry Center, a non-profit school that she helped to found. Previously, she was the director and founder of the MICA Jewelry Center in Baltimore and the director of the Jewelry Center at the 92nd Street Y in NYC. She is a frequent guest teacher at art schools and jewelry centers around the county.
