Hello Music Lovers –Just two weeks until the 2022 Chesapeake Chamber Music Festival takes the stage at Easton’s Ebenezer Theater, so purchase your tickets now for the upcoming concerts. A special note to piano lovers: five of the six concerts feature much-admired Ieva Jokubaviciute on our Steinway Concert Grand Piano.

The Friday, June 10 opening program presents works of J.S. Bach, Haydn, Brahms and Dvořák, followed by a light reception with the artists. The second concert, on June 11, offers more Bach, plus Chausson, Brahms and a Mozart flute quartet featuring renowned flautist Tara Helen O’Connor. The first week concludes on Sunday, June 12 with Bach, Ravel and a lovely Mozart string quintet, followed by an audience question-and-answer session with the artists.All Week One concerts include performances by critically acclaimed mezzo-soprano Jennifer Johnson Cano whose radiant personality will woo our audiences.Week Two opens on Thursday, June 16 with works of Mozart and Coleridge-Taylor, and continues Friday, June 17 with a rarely heard work of Édouard Destenay and a performance by percussion ensemble Trio Colores, the winners of Chesapeake Music’s 2022 International Chamber Music Competition for Young Professionals. The festival concludes on Saturday, June 18 with a lineup featuring festival-favorite oboist Peggy Pearson performing Pulitzer Prize winner John Harbison’s Six American Painters, in a setting scored especially for her, bookended by works of Mozart and Amy Beach.
