Join this free 1.5-hour in-person newcomer improv workshop designed for educators!
Drop in and try engaging warm up exercises and games. No prior experience in acting or improv is necessary. It’s a chance to meet other people, share some laughs, and see what improvisational comedy is all about in a fun, low-pressure, supportive, and relaxed setting.
More than just comedy, improv skills have been shown to have wide-ranging benefits beyond the stage that are useful in traditional classrooms and other teaching environments. As professional development, the collaborative nature of improv enhances skills for adaptability, spontaneity and creativity. During the session, participants engage in interactive exercises, building trust and rapport through playful interactions. Enjoy a fun night out and go home with some tools to reinforce listening skills and foster positive classroom relationships.
Doors open at 5:30pm. Come early for snacks and refreshments.
This workshop is open to adults of any age. Young people under age who register with an adult are welcome to attend. Improv Easton aims for a PG-13 family-friendly environment. Participants should keep in mind, however, that adult themes may arise.
